The rose and white flowered Daubenya comata
growing side by side. This photograph was taken
in the autumn of 2006 near the Vaal River south east of Stilfontein in the Free State. There were exceptional rains in the autumn of 2006 resulting in mass flowering of the Daubenyas.

PENROCK BOOKS

Some out of print books and out of print journals are available via Penrock Specialist Flora. The details about these publications follow here.

Daubenya comata bulbs sometimes grow very close together
in habitat. In this instance two rose coloured plants,
flowering simultaneously, appear almost joined together.

A robust Haworthia koelmaniorum variety mcmurtryi photographed in habitat. The plant was growing in a deep soil filled pocket between ryolite rocks and its cryptic leaf tips were very well camouflaged amongst ryolite pebbles. There is little difference between robust large H. koelmaniorum variety mcmurtryi and Haworthia koelmaniorum variety koelmaniorum.
Penrock Seeds offers seed from several unusual attractive clones of variety mcmurtryi. Plants from some of the special clones are also propagated by Penrock Specialist Flora.
